Organizaci—n Local Pro-Derechos Humanos Presenta Cargos Contra los San Diego Minutemen

ònase a los jornaleros y a sus apoyadores para una rueda de prensa este domingo, el 11 de febrero a las 8 a.m. en el sitio de bœsqueda de trabajo de los jornaleros ubicado en frente del Home Depot de Fairmount Ave. Los miembros de la organizaci—n Amigos de los Jornaleros (AJ), un grupo local pro-derechos humanos, anunciaran la iniciaci—n de acci—n jur’dica contra un miembro de los San Diego Minutemen. Los miembros de AJ han estado monitoreando y documentando las actividades de los Minutemen para los dos a–os pasados. TambiŽn, distribuiremos una grabaci—n a los medios que muestra los actos recientes de agresi—n violente en contra de nosotros hechos por los SD Minutemen. 

Juntaremos a los trabajadores para intercambiar las interacciones con los vigilantes y su comportamiento agresivo que hemos experimentado juntos. Compartiremos estas experiencias con la esperanza que los Minutemen paren su campa–a de hostigamiento contra los jornaleros que buscan empleo. 

Elegimos a Fairmount porque actualmente es un sitio popular de los San Diego Minutemen y los trabajadores all‡ est‡n familiarizados con el mismo comportamiento hostil que nosotros vimos recientemente por la parte de Christie Czajkowski y Jeff Schwilk. 

Los Amigos de los Jornaleros es una organizaci—n pro-inmigrantes y pro-derechos humanos que brinda apoyo a los jornaleros que buscan empleo en varios sitios en San Diego.

Local Human Rights Group Pressing Charges Against San Diego Minutemen

San Diego, CA- February 10- Join day laborers and supporters for a press conference on Sunday, February 11, 8 a.m. at the day labor site located in front of the Fairmount Ave. Home Depot.  Members of Friends of Day Laborers, a local human rights group, will announce the initiation of legal action against a member of the San Diego Minutemen. Members of FDL have been monitoring and documenting Minutemen activities for the past two years.  We will also be distributing video to the media containing footage of recent acts of violent aggression perpetrated against us by the San Diego Minutemen.  

We will be joining with the workers to share our experiences that we have had and our interactions with vigilantes and their aggressive behavior. We will be sharing these experiences in hope that the Minutemen will stop their campaign of harassment against the day laborers seeking employment. 

We chose Fairmount because it is currently a popular site of the San Diego Minutemen and the workers there are familiar with the same hostile behaviors that we have recently seen from Christie Czajkowski and Jeff Schwilk. 

Friends of Day Laborers is a pro-immigrant human rights organization that provides support for day laborers seeking work at various sites around San Diego.
