Oaxaca will not be forgotten!

Having left Oaxaca I am conscious of many people´s stories and accounts of violant repression by the pfp sactioned by the state.
I was in Oaxaca at a curious time because many people from APPO are in hiding.
Torture is the most common story that was shared.
Children being shot in the feet to interrogate APPO family members, this reflects the unexcusable tactics the pfp is taking.
The human rights violations continue everyday.
APPO continues to organize.
On the day we left, APPO had a meeting.
There will be plantons outside the jails where 140 political prisoners are being held. Planned for January...

The clearest statment that can be heard is that this is not an electoral struggle, to mererly get Ulises out is not the only goal.
Much of the struggle parrales the Other Campaign and the Zapatista struggle.
This they learned collectively as they rallied to get Ulises out they came to realize what ther demands really are.
A struggle for the indigenous, women, students, mothers, anarchists, teachers, the landless, the oaxaqueños...
A struggle that is interconected with struggles around the world.
The importance of solidarity can not be conveyed enough.
The struggle continues! Oaxaca will not be forgotten!

Do not think that this is a struggle that is over. Without visable news coverage in your community do not be fooled. APPO continues to struggle and organize. This was conveyed to me very clearly. The dialog within APPO is articulating how to best get the word out about what this struggle is knowing move clearly how it is being percieved in the international community.

¡Viva Oaxaca!
