In the Company of Racists

I can't believe how ridiculous it is when anti-immigrant folks who claim not to be racist keep company with known racists. This past saturday, a large anti-immigrant rally took place at which one of the main speakers was a guy who has been outed as a racist.

JT Ready is this controversial man who spoke last weekend at the "march for america" rally. The New Times covered the story of his myspace-type page on a site "for whites by whites" on which he displayed pictures of himself at anti-immigrant rallies. The new times said, "Favorite books include the neo-Nazi classic The Turner Diaries — you know, the racist dystopian novel by the late white supremacist leader William Pierce... Music-wise, the dood's into Prussian Blue, the white-nationalist bubblegum-pop duo of Lynx and Lamb Gaede, two blond, blue-eyed teenage twins who love Adolf Hitler, swastikas and giving the Nazi salute at their concerts." (Read more on that here- scroll down to "ready racist").

This page, formerly on newsaxon.com, now says "access denied" when you go to the page. Probably because "the bird" at new times has exposed him and keeps bringing it up- apparently assuming that all these anti-immigrant folks will change their mind about him once they know. Except they haven't done so. Oh, by the way, this guy also attended the neo-Nazi National Vanguard's annual Winterfest gathering in phoenix last year, wants there to be land mines along the border, and he shot an undocumented immigrant for some alleged and likely phony crime- but got away with it, while the immigrant got deported (but came back). I'm not sure why some of this stuff doesn't get brought up in "the bird's" column, but maybe there are some legal issues with that.

Seriously, people argue that "racist" is not the right word to use regarding j.t. ready. If this isn't racist, i don't know what is:

New Saxon is accomplishing the one thing that the anti-whites hate. Unity of our racial family. Good. I will keep my page on New Saxon as I planned to anyway... Thank you Buster and all the staff of the New Saxon who are helping make the dream of a safer world for white children possible.

What? Seriously, people are denying that this guy is racist! He doesn't even think he's racist!

But the hatred you harbor against me because of the color of my skin is what fuels your blindness. Your anti-white prejudice is what contributes to your ignorance. Your vitriol and foaming at the mouth at anything I say or do even remotely positive is what divides us. Not my "racism". Or your myriad other false claims upon me. (This is from a comment on arizona indymedia.org where some interesting dialog took place that you might check out if interested, here.)

This whole "we're not racist" thing has boggled my mind for years. Clearly one factor in this is that most people realize, if they ever want to be taken somewhat seriously, that they should not be associated with racism. The other is just a concept of racism that is misconstrued. I've discussed that in prior posts. But this takes the cake. He wants a world that's safer for white children. What the fuck else is that supposed to mean?

And what does it mean that 300 people cheered during jt ready's speech? He was an invited speaker, and no one, that i know of, protested that he was speaking for them when they claim to not be racist. This is why i maintain that no matter what you personally think about what race or racism means, if you associate with people who say hateful things, violent things, or obviously white-supremacist things, guess what- you're fucking racist if you don't have a problem racists representing your cause.

By the way, there were people there protesting this event. Perhaps pictures will show up on arizona.indymedia.org at some point.
