October Rebellion Against the IMF BEGINS! Over 150 protest at ICE

At noon on Oct 19, over 150 people filled the narrow street in front of ICE, demanding an end to raids and deportation of immigrants driven to the US by policies like NAFTA and IMF/World Bank programs.

Soon, the cops forced everyone onto the sidewalk(people complied so as not to endanger immigrants in the crowd), and this led to a speech about a "narrow space for democracy" in the US...

What an interesting place for a protest-on one side, ICE representing the American police state. On the other, cops, in between 3 feet of democracy. On the other side of the street entirely is a working construction site that would grind to a stop if immigrant workers were all deported-right acoss the street from ICE!

At the end of the rally against ICE, everyone marched down 3ed st to police headquarters to reinforce the protest against the police lynching of DeOnte Rawlings.
