Not only will there be several racists (see patriot's border alliance, riders u.s.a., american freedumb riders, and Buffalo Rick) harassing day laborers and their supporters at the Pruitt's boycott demonstration, but now sheriff joe put out a press release saying his officers will be out to arrest people- specifically undocumented people. I'm not sure how they're going to do this, since they can't just walk up to someone and ask for papers. They would need an excuse like blocking a public thoroughfare, soliciting, something like that. You can be there to protest, to be a witness to any activity on the part of the police that is not legal, to counter the racist counter-protesters, or to count as one more person that can't be threatened with deportation for affecting the pruitt's business (that is, if you're legal). Keep in mind you can do what you want, but the organizers decided they don't want their side engaging with the counter-demonstrators. Passing out fliers might be acceptable to them. Hold a sign so everyone knows what side you're on.
This has turned into not only a fight over whether pruitt's can get the cops to protect his business from people standing around in the area waiting for work. This is much bigger than that now. It has affected the Mayor's decision to support a change in the policy that requires police not to ask about immigration status. This is a historical moment!

“This weekend, I will increase the number deputies to patrol the Pruitt’s area, and I promise that my deputies will arrest all violators of the state and federal immigration laws,†says the Sheriff. “I will not give up. All the activists must stop their protest before I stop enforcing the law in that area.â€

ARPAIO INTENSIFIES PRESENCE AT
PRO-ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION PROTEST AT PRUITT’S
Sheriff’s Deputies Return to Mesa and Arrest Thirteen More Illegals
(Phoenix, AZ) Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is set to increase the presence of the Illegal Immigration Interdiction (Triple I) Unit this weekend, as pro-illegal immigration demonstrators and illegal immigrant day laborers continue to protest his illegal immigration policies on the driveways of the Pruitt’s Furniture Store located in Central Phoenix.
Illegal immigration activists have protested at Pruitt’s every Saturday in the last six weeks since Sheriff Arpaio’s deputies began patrolling the vicinity of the furniture store near 36th Street and Thomas Road. Already, 44 illegal aliens have been arrested by Sheriff’s deputies, including eight illegals arrested this past Saturday during the weekly protest.
Pro-illegal day laborer supporters are increasing in number and they continue to intimidate Pruitt’s owner Roger Sensing, in an attempt to ruin his business in the name of illegal immigration. The Sheriff will not relent and his enforcement operations will continue.
Arpaio says those violating any laws on the Pruitt’s store property will be arrested and taken to jail.
“This weekend, I will increase the number deputies to patrol the Pruitt’s area, and I promise that my deputies will arrest all violators of the state and federal immigration laws,†says the Sheriff. “I will not give up. All the activists must stop their protest before I stop enforcing the law in that area.â€
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is and continues to be the only Arizona law enforcement agency enforcing all aspects of the Arizona human smuggling law and federal immigration laws.
In yet another operation, Sheriff’s deputies returned to the City of Mesa resulting in 13 more arrests of illegal aliens near the area of Stapley and Broadway Roads. A total of 31 illegal aliens have been arrested by Sheriff’s deputies in recent weeks in Mesa.
“Since no one else will enforce state and federal immigration laws, my deputies have gone into the City of Mesa for the third time,†says Arpaio. “Sheriff’s deputies will continue to enforce state and federal immigration laws everywhere in the county, including Mesa and Phoenix.â€
