Blaće is interested in media arts and aesthetics particularly in the context of streaming media practices and visual observations. He is working with UC faculty including Natalie Jeremijenko and Lev Manovich to develop and present a streaming media exhibition and symposium in the fall of 2006...
Željko Blaće (1976, Čapljina - Republic of Bosnia & Herzegovina) is active in new media culture scene of Central Europe since 1996 (in Croatia) as web designer, artist and journalist. In recent years he has moved into the international media arts scene via roles as organizer, researcher and curator. He is active in the media-culture organizations: LABinary (co-editor of print newsletter), radioActive (event organizer and web developer) and Multimedia Institute (full time employed as programs and projects co-coordinator, executive board member). He is a contributor for cultural programs of the national radio and TV ("Transfer" and "Triptih"); and occasionally writes for ICT magazines, in the cultural magazine Zarez, and on radioActive and linux.hr web portals. Blaće promotes non-profit net projects, and is working on strengthening the impact of NGO sector on Croatian netspace (both in terms of infrastructure and legislation).
